桃の節句に。

「Maidens' prayer -MISSOURI」テンペラと油彩の混合技法　F25

　この絵は2月28日からのASIA HOTEL ART FAIR HONG KONG 2014に出品した作品です。以前に描いたこの↓

『13maidens' prayer』（2011年）が昨年海外へ里子に出まして、ギャラリーさんから改めてオファー頂き、描いたものです。まるで双子の姉妹ですねえ〜。
　言うまでもないですが、1945年ミズーリ艦上での降伏文書調印式をテーマにしてます。

　ちなみに、テーブル手前にある真空管ラジオは、松下電器の当時の製品を元に描いてます。猫は、昔は航海でよくお共に乗せられたそうで、こちらでの微笑ましい写真からインスパイアされました。⇒「カラパイア かつて猫は船の守り神だった。船に乗る猫たちの古写真特集（32枚+動画）」

　以下は提出したステートメントをば。

　私は日本の第二次大戦後をテーマにこれまで3回の個展を行った。
　今回の新作は、1945年9月に米戦艦ミズーリ号にて行われた日本の降伏文書調印式を、アレゴリーによって描いている。ここでの乙女たちは、「平和祈念像」のような、象徴的な存在である。
　-千羽鶴とカードゲームについて-
　日本では戦争犠牲者への祈念として、千羽鶴を贈ったり、数々の祈りを捧げる乙女の像が造られているが、それは呪術での依り代・トークンのような機能をしており、千羽鶴を折ることや無垢な乙女の像を掲げることで、人々は平和へのなんらかな打開策・効能を心から信じているわけではないのだが、トークンとしては流通している。そして「pray」は「play」にかけている。少年や乙女の像は、無垢な犠牲者の語りを成立させたいがために、カタストロフという壮大な背景を必要としているようでもある。

I have held my private exhibitions three times so far, the theme of which was Japan’s Post World War II.
The new my work allegorically portrays the signing of Japan's Instrument of Surrender held on the USS Missouri in September, 1945. The maidens in here are iconic figures like “Statue of Peace.”

• about thousand paper cranes and poker game-

In Japan, a thousand paper cranes are offered and maiden statues that offer a number of prayers are built as memorials for the war victims; these acts have a function like a "token" in occult art. In other words, people do no necessary believe that folding a thousand paper cranes and building innocent maiden statues would have tangible effects on peace making, but these acts exist as "tokens". The words "pray" and "play" rhyme.
And boys and maidens statues also seem to require a magnificent background: a catastrophe, in order to give voice to the innocent victims.
